2026 - October- Social

October is another month down, and our combined FPV and HSV club cruise is the only social event to report on this month.

It was a triple bakery and café cruise, kicking off at Lawleys Bakery in Wembley Downs, continuing to Basil Fine Foods in Mindarie, and finishing up in Bindoon for lunch. A great excuse to get the cars out and enjoy a few good stops along the way!

To be honest, turnout was a little light, partly due to a heap of our members heading down to Collie for the Double Header Collie Cup, which was a great success. We had just four HSV club cars join the cruise. The weather wasn't too bad, but the forecast certainly wasn't looking promising either!

Unfortunately, the President's pride and joy had a bit of an unwanted encounter in a car park, courtesy of another motorist. Thankfully, a few witnesses stepped in and held the gentleman accountable when he appeared ready to do a runner. Not exactly the sort of excitement we had planned for the day!

Despite that hiccup, the FPV crew were incredibly welcoming, and we're absolutely keen to organise something together again.

It was great to see two clubs of like-minded, passionate Aussie muscle car lovers come together, keeping that respectful rivalry alive. After all, without each other, who would we have to give a bit of friendly banter to? 😂

We'll keep in touch with the FPV crew and throw a few ideas around for them to join us at an upcoming event. Hopefully, we can get a few more cars along next time!

🌭 Coming Up: Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

This Saturday, 31 October (Halloween), from 9 am to 4 pm, we'll be firing up the BBQ at Bunnings Subiaco.

We'll have a few club cars on display, giving us a great opportunity to promote HSVOCWA to the wider community while raising some much-needed funds for the club.

We'd love to see members drop by for a few spooky snags, and even better if you roll in with your HSV or HDT for a chat!

We're also looking for anyone who can spare a few hours to lend a hand. If you're available, please let us know ASAP. Every helping hand makes a difference, and the more people we have pitching in, the easier the day will be for everyone.

🎄 End-of-Year Function: Nikola Estate

We're pushing hard to get everyone signed up for our End-of-Year Function at the gorgeous Nikola Estate on Sunday, 29 November.

Bookings are open now, so if you haven't secured your spot yet, please jump onto the club website and get registered. We need to finalise catering numbers, and the sooner we have an idea of who's coming, the better.

It's shaping up to be a ripper family day, with a fantastic setting, good food and great company. We'd love to see a strong turnout and finish the year together in style. Don't leave it until the last minute!

🚗 One More Cruise Before Christmas?

We'll aim to squeeze in one more cruise before Christmas, so keep an eye on the club's social pages for updates. There's still time to get one more run in before the silly season takes over!
