2026 - June - Social

This month we headed up the  hill to Lesmurdie for the Burger Run event. Mark and his team at Soder Burgers were great hosts (even with no internet and till system) and the carpark has never looked so good. There was a great mix of member cars including a genuine VN Group A, Adrian Alphabet in his Bumble Bee Camaro, and about 20 HSV’s - Senator's, Clubsport's, GTS’s, a Grange and a couple of Maloo’s - a ripper mix.

After everyone enjoyed a Burger, we got to relive some of our  1990s V8 Supercar pain as a tidy R32 Skyline lead us off on our cruise. For the purists don't worry, the R32 owner loved his VT Clubby and has an HQ tattooed on his arm.

The run up to Canning Dam was awesome, twisting roads and valley views, but none better than mine as I followed from the very back and could see the line up of HSV muscle doing what they do best.

Many thanks to Nathan and G from NSK for capturing the day with some fantastic pics, we urge all members to support them as they’ve come on board as our newest club sponsor.

We have a family friendly event for July. It’s also weatherproof, if it’s raining we will still go ahead.

Swan Valley Pub Lunch : plan is to meet up at the Hillary’s Boat ramp Carpark at 10.00am - chat as everyone gathers, leave by 10.30am and cruise out to the Swan Valley to the Henley Brook Tavern. We have a few big tables booked so everyone can order and pay separately for ease. Bring the family as heaps off space for kids to play and keep’s partners happy too.

Plan is to get out there early and get all the cars together in a corner of the carpark. If you can’t make the cruise part, you are welcome to meet us at the Henley Brook around 11.30am.

If you aren’t in town for the 19th, the motorsport guys are at Wanneroo on the 12th July so good excuse to take the car for a drive and watch some action on track with minimal traffic or spectators, who knows you may get the bug yourself…….its a heap of fun flying around out there.

As we look to August and September things really ramp up with the annual Peter Brock Memorial cruise, the Celebration of Motorsport, Curtin FM event, so keep your eyes on the Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as the website. And if you have TikTok Chantelle is doing some great work there too.

See you on the 19th July at Hillary’s/Henley Brook Tavern - will be a great day.

Cheers, your Social Committee.
