Club Culture, Good People & Why You Should Put Your Hand Up

One thing I’ve noticed stepping into the Editor role is just how much work quietly happens behind the scenes.

Committees don’t magically organise events, newsletters, social posts, motorsport days, merchandise, and everything else that keeps a club alive. It takes people giving up their own time because they actually care.

So before anything else — a genuine thank you to the committee and the members who continually put their hand up to help. The club only moves forward because of teamwork, and there’s a good bunch of people currently helping keep the wheels turning.

Got a Car You’re Proud Of? Let Us Feature It

I’ll be honest… some of the best cars in the club probably haven’t been featured because their owners are too modest.

Maybe you think:

"Mine’s not clean enough."
"Mine’s not rare enough."
"Mine’s not finished."

Trust me — none of that matters as much as you think.

The magazine isn’t only for immaculate garage queens or low-kilometre collector cars. Daily drivers, projects, modified cars, original cars, motorsport cars… they’ve all got a story.

And often, the story behind the car is the interesting part.

So if you’d like your vehicle featured in the club magazine, or know someone whose car deserves a mention, get in touch:

Don’t overthink it. Put your hand up.

Sunday 17th of May – A Good Reminder Why Clubs Matter

A big thank you to everyone who turned out for the club catch-up on Sunday the 17th.

The variety was unreal.

Ford Bronco, Nissan GTR, Holdens like the HK ute, HSVs and more — plenty to look at and proof that good people with an interest in cars usually get along regardless of what badge is on the bonnet.

The venue worked brilliantly too.

Plenty of parking, relaxed atmosphere, and a thank you to The Inbetween Coffee Shop for the great service and coffee that disappeared quicker than club merch at an AGM.

Meeting BigL Photography

I’ve got to admit — meeting BigL Photography was pretty cool for me personally.

Most people involved in cars around Perth have probably seen the photos at some stage. It’s always interesting meeting the people behind the camera who quietly document a lot of the local car scene over the years.

And Finally… The Club Flanno

I wasn’t expecting this… but I’ve become strangely attached to the club flanno.

What starts as:

"I’ll just wear it to one event."

Turns into:

"This is actually pretty comfortable."

Then before you know it, you’re standing in Bunnings or grabbing coffee wondering if you’ve accidentally become one of the long-time members.

I’m not saying it’s happened…

…but I’m not denying it either.

The club has a good mix at the moment — long-standing members, newer members, social events, motorsport, and people willing to get involved.

That’s worth appreciating.

See you at the next event.
