Welcome back to a new year of club motorsport, the first event is fast approaching and it is something different. We have put together a double header event with the help of the MX-5 Racing club. Due to our first date issued by WASCC being February 22nd, we were worried it would be a stinking hot day and nobody would turn up.

The Mx-5 guys were keen to share the day and they have agreed to allow HSV members to join their event and vica-versa. So we have a long track sprint day for the morning as per our normal events, followed by a point to point which is a fancy way of saying start in pitlane, do a lap and finish back in pitlane. Mx-5 have a special timing system which allows them to have upto 7 x cars ontrack at the same time so they can cycle thru 50 entries pretty quickly, making for upto 12 runs for the afternoon for each entrant.

This also gives us an extra event to tie into our club championship, therefor both Rounds 1 & 2 will be done and dusted on the day. Those entered do need to be at the track ready to compete by 7.30am as we are aiming to get out ontrack for the full sprint by 8.00am sharp. A reminder email will be sent prior to the event with detailed instructions for entrants.

We have plenty of spots available for the morning sprint so if you are looking for a great value half day event at $200, please feel free to enter and get anybody else you know with a hot car to come along. The afternoon P2P looks like it is fully booked out already which is great to see.

Round 3 of the championship is yet to be locked in but we are planning on a Kwinana Motorplex sprint event possibly April 19th but stay tuned for confirmation on that.
