2025 - June Motorsport

Hi All

 

A quiet month for motorsport, The Triumph Motorplex event being the only thing on the calendar recently which is about to take place at the time of writing this article. You will read all about it next month. A number of club members also competed in the BEERS 24hr endurance race at Wanneroo. This is an awesome event and is truly a test of team and machine, no matter how fast or slow the vehicle is. 

 

There were 38 entries and although a few suffered various teminal issues and failed to finish, the vast majority did and its a testiment to those teams for their sheer stamina and determination. Our Team Broke Bank Motorsport consisting of Pat VanBrakel, Robbie Cox, Mike Miller, Tannah Lee and myself, along with crew Josh Cochrane & Jackson Cox, although we had the fastest car, it didn't guarantee anything, we lost 3hrs fixing a blown diff,  but we still managed to claw our way back to finish 14th. The thing is every other team had varying tales of woahs and still found a way to finish the event. There were Commodores, Falcons, Mitsubishis, Suzukis, Nissans, you name it, it was out there.

Our next big track event is the August Wanneroo Sprint. The event will go live very shortly so make sure you get your entries in nice and early, we are hoping for the MX-5 and Jaguar Car clubs to put some groups together so there should be a great mix of different vehicles strutting their stuff.

 

We are waiting to hear about the York Hillclimb to be locked in but it looks to be on for the 4th October. If you are keen to enter, when it is released via email, you will need to be quick to secure a spot, it will be very popular.

 

After that, the last competitive run for the year, bar the ride day, will be the Collie Cup double header weekend 8 - 9th November. This is a must do event, apart from being 2 x days of action ontrack, its also a great get away camping weekend with a party atmosphere on the Saturday night.
