September kept us on our toes – starting out wet and cold before finishing with sunshine, motorsport action, and one of our biggest public showcases yet.
We opened the month with our Annual Peter Brock Memorial Cruise, and true to our word, it went ahead despite the unseasonably rainy conditions. Fitting really – if anyone could drive the wheels off a car no matter the weather, it was Brocky. The route through the Perth Hills was a fantastic drive, made even more memorable by the challenging conditions. After paying our respects at Peter’s memorial, we headed on to the Parkerville Tavern, where members braved the drizzle once again to enjoy a great meal, a few drinks, and that unbeatable HSVOCWA social vibe.
Fast forward a couple of weeks, and the skies finally cleared for the Celebration of Motorsport – and what a cracking day it turned out to be! Our club turned up in force, both as part of the Tarmac Event and the Langley Park sideshow display, and the effort showed. The presentation of our cars and marquee really set us apart, and being moved from our original spot turned out to be a blessing in disguise – right alongside some of the legendary Lee Collection cars, which meant constant foot traffic and plenty of opportunities to interact with the public. The feedback was fantastic, with lots of interest in HSVOCWA and even a new member signing up right at the start of the day. A huge credit to everyone involved – it was a truly professional showing that reflected just how strong our club is.
🎉 Member Highlights
A special congratulations goes to Tim Wright and Greg Allen, who put in a huge effort at the Tarmac Events Celebration of Motorsport, taking out their class and finishing 5th overall in the standings. An incredible result – well done, guys!
🔮 Looking Ahead
October brings the focus back to the social side of the club with two great events: the Curtin FM Car Show and our always-popular Dyno Day. Both are perfect opportunities to get involved, catch up with mates, and show off what our cars can do.
As always, thank you to every member who turned up, supported, or helped out this month. The energy and commitment you all bring is what makes HSVOCWA such a standout club.
👉 Call to Action: Don’t forget to register for upcoming events and get those HSVs out from under their covers – we’ve got plenty more in store as the weather warms up. And if you’ve snapped photos from recent events, we’d love to see them – share them with the club so we can showcase the memories together.
