2025 - June - Social

June has been a packed month for the HSV Owners Club of WA — full of great cars, great people, and great times. From winding drives to trivia triumphs and thoughtful feedback, it’s been fantastic to see the club's spirit on full display. Here’s a look back at what made the month so memorable.

We kicked off the month with a caffeine-charged cruise to Yahava Koffeeworks in the Swan Valley. Despite the early morning weather being a bit questionable, the clouds gave way to a beautiful warm sun. A strong turnout of members, a great variety of HSVOCWA rides, and plenty of fresh roasted coffee made for a relaxed and enjoyable morning. Thanks to everyone who came along and to Yahava for their warm welcome — Their parking bays will never look better!

The Holden/HSV/Motorsport Quiz was held after the June General Meeting. This event was a night of laughs, friendly rivalry, and great club vibes. We packed out the Leederville Sporting Club and tested everyone’s motorsport and HSV knowledge. 🏆 Congratulations to the winning team, “HSV Kings” — the title was well-earned!
🍕 Drinks were flowing (thanks again to Jodie behind the bar) and members were treated to some snacks in the form of pizza, chips and lollies. Huge thanks to everyone who came and made it a great night.

Quiz

A massive thank you to all the members who participated in our June survey! Your feedback helps guide how we run and improve the club — and we’re listening.
Here’s what you told us, and how we’re responding:
🔥 Most-Requested Events
• More cruises and regional drives — already being added to the calendar.
• Strong interest in technical workshops and motorsport-focused events. – Chats added to the club Facebook pages. Feel free to ask questions or add content.
• Suggestions for guest speakers and themed gatherings — we’re on it! Coming soon is a visit to Rosco McGlashan’s workshop to see Aussie Invader (Australian Land Speed record holder) and also a guest speaker to put your mind at ease with some solutions in regards to thefts of HSVs.
🕒 Frequency
• The majority of you want monthly events, so we’re aiming to maintain that rhythm going forward. – or exceed it
🤝 Priorities
• Growing membership and strengthening member connection are key goals — and we’re building events to match.
📣 Communication
• Email and Facebook are your preferred updates — so we’ll keep those front and centre. Weekly club updates go out via these mediums to keep you up to date and informed. If I can ask one thing in return please remember: Registering for events really helps the club. It gives the committee the numbers we need to plan effectively for catering, venues, and logistics — and helps us make each event bigger and better than the last.

A warm welcome to our new members. To those who joined in June — welcome!
We’re glad to have you on board and can’t wait to see you at an upcoming event. Whether you're cruising, competing, or just grabbing a coffee, you're always welcome.

The committee is already hard at work planning a Gala Dinner later this year — a night to celebrate the club, the cars, and the people that make it all happen. Stay tuned for details — this one’s shaping up to be a real highlight!
Don’t forget to check the Events tab on our website or Facebook for the latest events — July is already heating up with:
• The Show’n’Shine – Round 1 at AutoFX WA
• A Drive-In Movie Night (F1: The Movie)
• And our very first HSVOCWA Blood Drive

Thanks again to all our members — new and long-standing — for making June an awesome month.

See you out there!
James👊
